AGL ENERGY'S REAL-TIME DATA JOURNEY CONTINUES
AGL is continuing its real-time data journey empowered by OSI Soft and the Enterprise Agreement. AGL has now built its Operational Technology Platform with OSI PI at its heart. Its Operation Diagnostics Centre is mature and adding massive value. Now AGL is developing its own solutions for thermodynamic performance optimisation and wind yield optimisation, that will be built using only OSI PI technology. Hear our story of how these capabilities have been developed and deployed, and the positive affects our business has experienced.

BHP REAL-TIME DATA PLATFORM AND OSISOFT PI SYSTEM

BHP is a world-leading resources company.  We extract and process minerals, oil and gas, with more than 60,000 employees and contractors, primarily in Australia and the Americas.  Our products are sold worldwide, with sales and marketing led through Singapore and Houston and United States.  Our global headquarters are in Melbourne, Australia.  BHP began their PI System journey in 2008 with the first installation within the Petroleum division and extended in 2015 through an Enterprise Agreement with OSIsoft for all their Iron Ore operations in Western Australia.  This presentation tells the story of the experiences as they seek to "Change the way we think" through a global Real-Time Data Platform.

ASSET MANAGEMENT INFORMATION PLATFORM - BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER IN PI AND ARCGIS
TransGrid have embarked on a transformation program together with GTS, OSIsoft and esri Australia, to bring together real-time, asset and other business data from multiple sources into a single PI System portal.  The AMIP will streamline critical situational analysis by providing real-time, nameplate, manual measurement, maintenance and other business data together in a single AF model.  PI Vision and ArcGIS will provide dashboards for managers to easily assimilate potential issues across their fleet of assets and quickly drill down into specific locations and assets to make data-based operational decisions.

BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER: REAL-TIME CAPACITY MONITORING

After years of manually stitching together data from a number of disparate sources, the Energy Queensland plant ratings team now has access to real-time, weather-adjusted overhead line ratings across Queensland.  Made possible through a number of key PI System technologies, the team can now focus on identifying constraints, maximising utilisation and making informed augmentation decisions.  Join Tim as he talks through Energy Queensland's journey from simple historian to high performance operational tool incorporating asset data, field telemetry, weather data, geospatial data, ESRI mapping outputs and PI Vision displays.

ANALYTICS: IT'S WHAT YOU DO WITH THE DATA THAT COUNTS
Industrial Analytics is the buzz of the day. Big data, data lakes, machine learning and artificial intelligence are offering the allure of new insights and answers to efficiencies.  However sometimes the first big win comes from a small improvement and the data you already own.  Learn how you can break down seemingly complex big data problems into a manageable sequence of steps with the PI System.  Even without waiting for completion of a full-blown statistical model, your operational experts can often spot anomalous patterns with little more than a few events captured by PI System event frames and compiled in a report.  And when you are ready to push data to advanced machine learning (ML) tools, the PI Integrator line is available to jump-start your data science initiative with clean, ready-to-consume, reliable data.

HOW PIAF IS SOLVING THE GROWING BURDEN OF PRODUCTION REPORTING
Mining companies, much like other industries, need production reporting to ascertain the best performance of the plant on a daily basis. These reports are normally compiled manually by Metallurgists in spreadsheets and are continually manipulated as they don’t look right and take a lot of time to produce! With asset structuring, calculation and aggregation using PIAF, also templating automated reports for display or print from the single source is reducing labour time in collation of data and de-risking the potential for error in production reporting. At one Gold site Metallurgists as opposed to previously spending their time collecting and reporting numbers, they now have time to improve production numbers!
